From my “Batik” (aka poured) collection. This is from a series of 3 paintings with architectural themes. I was never too convinced about the success of the other two in the series, but, oh! How I love those bougainvillea and the perspective in this scene! I had opportunity to visit Israel and Mexico, where bougainvillea grow in wild, huge masses and hedges, in shades of pinks, red, white, lavender, etc, climbing over big walls... quite unlike here in the Pacific Northwest where they are impressively (exotically?) pretty house plants but “puny” in comparison. I'd love to see them again like this...maybe some day.
