This piece is from an experimental session with a friend, during which we coated watercolor paper with gesso or watercolor ground and added more texture with items we laid on top of the product while still wet. In the case of the gesso, one approach was to lightly coat one piece and then "kiss" another piece of paper of same size to that one, then gently pull them apart, leaving a light texturing on both sheets. I was super pleased with how that texture lent itself so well to this water scene. I achieved something with the texture I'd never have gotten without it!
